"My World Journey was to Nepal. It was my first trip to that part of the world. I wondered how Americans were treated after only seeing images from the news. When my fiance and I arrived in Kathmandu, we had a car waiting for us to take us to our hotel which by the way, was a 5-Star hotel. Great accommodations, great food and exotic scenery. The trip just got better from there. I never felt un-safe or worried the rest of the trip. We had transportation and guides everywhere we went. The Nepali people are some of the nicest, most gracious people I've ever met. The sites we visited were better than the pictures I had seen prior to our trip. The most comforting part was the safe, sacred space. Seeing how the Nepali people live; the happiness they experience in living a simple life gave me some perspective in mine. I was able to let down my walls of mistrust that I had accumulated over the years. When we got back to the states and after being engaged for five years, my fiance and got married in Maui, Hawaii 5 months later! The walls came down." - Lisa
